Zui (醉) Teochew Cuisine—comprising Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine, Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine, and Chao Ting—is our tribute to the timeless culinary heritage of one of Singapore’s founding Chinese dialect groups. Our dining concepts celebrate authentic Teochew cuisine through crafting our dishes only with the freshest, finest ingredients, executed using the purest methods of preparation—the tenets of Teochew culinary philosophy.
Our first restaurant—Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine—is housed within Chui Huay Lim Club, one of the oldest clubs in Singapore with more than 170 years of history. Mirroring this dining concept is sister restaurant Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine, which finds its home in a refurbished two-storey heritage shophouse from 1854, located at Far East Square, a district steeped in rich local Chinese history. The two establishments specialise in iconic Teochew classics that showcase the unique qualities of the cuisine. An expertly executed steamed pomfret, lightly seasoned to bring out its natural flavours; tender braised duck with beancurd slices, slow-cooked to draw out deep, nuanced flavours; crisp-skinned yet succulent roasted suckling pig—a show-stopping centrepiece that will add a touch of decadence to every table; and a luxuriously smooth yam paste that presents sweet comfort in every mouthful—these are just some of the highlights on our menu.
Another addition to our family is Chao Ting. Located just around the corner from Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine, the fast-casual dining concept specialises in Teochew ‘pao fan’—a traditional delicacy made from simmering fragrant rice in a flavourful broth, topped with crispy rice and fried egg floss. It offers a modern, sophisticated rendition of the rustic comfort food and aims to warm tummies and hearts of young and old alike.
Together, our concepts showcase Teochew gastronomic culture in its essence: a delicate cuisine that lends itself as perfectly to a grand celebration as it is savoured over a cosy gathering; a cuisine for all occasions and every generation. Let us take you on a delicious journey to discover the rich historical and cultural influences that have shaped Teochew food, and become a connoisseur of this beautifully refined cuisine. Back
